Software Partner Selection
Top AI Development Companies in Vietnam
Nine Vietnamese companies with a published AI development focus, compared on AI share of services, stated AI areas, delivery evidence and pricing, plus a proposal checklist covering data, evaluation, fallback and running costs.
Key takeaways
- Define the AI problem first — an LLM feature, a machine learning model, a retrieval system and data engineering need different skills.
- Look for delivery evidence with scope and output, not just lists of model names on a profile.
- Ask every vendor the same questions about data handling, evaluation, fallback behaviour and running costs, then start with a bounded pilot.
On this page
Almost every software company now lists AI among its services, which makes choosing an AI partner harder. The useful questions are narrower: which kinds of AI work does a company focus on, what evidence shows it has delivered them, and how does it evaluate results? This comparison covers nine Vietnamese companies with a published AI focus and gives you a checklist for reading AI proposals.
Publisher disclosure
This comparison is published by PoliteTech Software, a Vietnam-based development provider that is included in the shortlist. We use the criteria and sources described below. Inclusion does not imply that we have worked with or independently audited every company. Companies are grouped by fit, not ranked by quality.
Define the AI problem before choosing a vendor
| Type of AI work | Examples | Skills that matter |
|---|---|---|
| AI application (LLM features) | Drafting, summarising, chat assistants, agents | Prompt and tool design, evaluation, product integration |
| Retrieval (RAG) | Knowledge assistants, document Q&A | Data ingestion, search, permissions, citation |
| Machine learning | Forecasting, recommendations, classification | Data science, feature engineering, MLOps |
| Computer vision and document AI | OCR, inspection, document extraction | Image data, labelling, model training, validation |
| Data engineering | Pipelines, warehouses, data quality | ETL, cloud data platforms, governance |
Types of AI work. Many projects combine several.
Knowing which type you need prevents a common mistake: hiring a strong web team that has added “AI” to its services for a project that actually needs data science, or vice versa.
What counts as AI delivery evidence
Strong evidence describes a problem, the data used, what the system does, how it was evaluated and how it runs in production. Weak evidence lists model names or uses AI only as a marketing label. When reading case studies, check:
- Is the vendor’s role clear?
- Is the AI task specific (for example, extracting fields from invoices) rather than vague (“AI-powered platform”)?
- Are results explained with a method, or just stated as percentages?
- Is there anything about human review, fallback or monitoring?
Self-reported metrics in case studies are not independent verification. Ask how they were measured.

Want to scope a first AI use case before comparing vendors?
Questions about data and evaluation
Ask every shortlisted vendor:
| Area | Question |
|---|---|
| Data access | Which data will the system use, where is it stored and who approved its use? |
| Retention | Will any provider retain or train on our data? How is this configured? |
| Permissions | How do you ensure users only see what they are allowed to see? |
| Evaluation | What test set will you build, and which metrics define success? |
| Failure handling | What happens when the model is unsure or wrong? Where do humans review? |
| Cost | What is the expected cost per task at our volume, and how is it monitored? |
| Model choice | Why this model or provider, and how easily can it be changed? |
| Operations | Who monitors quality after launch, and how are prompts or models updated? |

Choose a bounded first engagement
Start with one workflow and a pilot that produces evidence for a decision, rather than a broad “AI transformation” contract. Our guide How to scope an AI pilot before development begins explains how to choose the workflow, define checks and plan the pilot. Frequently asked questions
Do I need an AI specialist company?
For data science and model training, specialists help. For adding LLM features to an existing product, a strong product engineering team with AI evaluation skills may be a better fit.
Which AI models do Vietnamese companies use?
Profiles list a range including OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere and open-source models. Model choice should follow your requirements for quality, cost and data handling.
How do I compare AI proposals?
Use the checklist above and insist on an evaluation plan with measurable criteria.
Can AI run in our own environment?
Yes, through private deployment of open models or cloud services in your own account. Ask vendors about their experience with each.
